Carbs & Protein, burn fat effectively.

BE FIT
Template for easy carb + protein combos.
Gluten substitutes: buckwheat waffle, gluten free oats
Dairy substitutes: coconut yogurt,
Kroger ranch mix + tofu cream cheese.

Your body digests food at different places and uses different amounts of energy to do so. Proteins and their ratio with in a food are in direct correlation to your body's retention to fat and your energy level.

Carbs
Carbohydrates are a combination of sugars (monosaccharide) which begin to be broken down in the mouth by saliva. They are more than bread. Carbs are found in vegetables, dairy, fruits... and when broken down into glucose, provide cells with energy. Carbs found in processed foods (sugary treats, sodas, baked goods) are bad. Fruits, veggies, whole grains, and dairy are good carbs. Fiber is part of carbohydrates. It works in the intestines binding to fats and carrying them out as waste and reducing hunger.

Protein
Proteins are broken down within the body into amino acids. Amino acids are absorbed in the small intestine through villi (finger like projections of the intestine lining) and released into the blood stream for transportation. Proteins slow carb digestion which promotes stable blood sugar levels. As levels remain stable, your body resists cravings because you will be internally regulated. Additionally, proteins take more energy to digest so they rev-up your metabolism.

Application

We no longer are prisoners to our cravings,
His grace is sufficient!
BE FEARLESS
Do not get in a hurry. The "A" #1 reason I find myself eating unhealthy or straying from self control is because I don't see results after 1day. On average it takes about 3 weeks to show noticeable results.

Self control is a fruit of a healthy spirit. Let a healthy life style grow you as a person and slim your waist. Focus not on your weight in a "look at my body" goal but set out for a goal to master your own cravings. We are easily suckers for our desires: popularity, beauty, sex, getting even, being the top. And those that have mastered such things are still empty. Your ambition must be more or the battle will never end, and most likely never be won. In order to run from something, you must run too something else.

Bloating, lack of sleep, constipation, cant loose weight...gluten&dairy?

Let your health first come form the Lord, treat your
body as your temple and eating right as worship. What
we really crave is God... not that 1000 cal. comfort food.
About the Blog
Beginning in about 6th grade the pressure of being 'beautiful' was on my shoulders. I feared not being good enough, not be accepted, not being loved... if I wasn't skinny. Long story short, my junior year in high school I struggled mildly from bulimia. Being at such a vulnerable state I had no where to turn but to something more.. God. Over the past years I have continued to develop a new idea of beauty by the grace of a God who looks at my heart and not my figure. This blog is to address health from a perspective of such truths. Yes, it is okay to  desire to be fit. Lets also be fearless, and by this I mean knowing who you are, eating not for comfort but why we were designed to... for fellowship and sustainability. To all my sisters out there, BE FIT BE FEARLESS.

Recently I have realized, through blood testing, I am highly allergic to ALL dairy; the alleged culprits are 2 proteins: casein and lactalbumin. In addition to I am allergic to eggs, red meats (those of you who know me know I'm dying here!) , almonds, pineapple, and mildly to gluten.

Despite your similarities and/or difference in food allergens these helpful tips can benefit most anyone. If you have not had a food allergens test I HIGHLY recommend, I also advise you to go through your regular doctor to receive the blood test and not a nutritionist b/c more than likely your insurance will only cover you through your doctor... I learned the hard way!
Bloating
-Inflamed gut: Gluten is a protein in wheat, rye, and barley that is commonly found in bread, beer, pasta, and a wide range of other processed foods containing these grains. According to my nutritionist its a natural inflammatory agent. Try cutting it out for at least 1week and see how you feel. Kroger, Shnucks, and Dierbergs all have gluten free sections so you can avoid without sacrifice!
Dairy I believe is my main issue here, and could be yours... eggs are highly allergenic believe it or not!
With an inflamed gut you can also be susceptible to yeast over growth which becomes more serious as it threatens spreading into your blood stream. The openings in your sm. intestine are enlarged and proteins are not absorbed properly. With my experience this can also lead to constipation and cravings.
-Constipation: Personally, this has been a life long issue, oh ya Im getting real with ya now. ha. I have been hospitalized several times and once for vomiting bile (a digestive enzyme secreted by the liver)... that really bad. As stated earlier this is in direct correlation with my food allergies as says my nutritionist. Until healed, and treating my symptoms I drink Traditional Medicinals Smooth Move Tea each night before bed, regularly take Miralax. At desperate times I will drink a bottle of magnesium citrate mixed with a little Sprite. CAUTION these should NOT be regular habits.. get healed don't just treat the symptoms.
Lack of Sleep
- Insomnia: Recently I had an aunt find that she is also Highly allergic to dairy. She has suffered from lack of sleep for many years and in her recent avoidance of ALL diary she can now sleep up to 5 hours at a time... haha, ya, 5 hours is a lot for her! Her main sensitivity was to the protein casein.

- Restless Leg Syndrome: The same aunt I mentioned above suffered from this as well... it contributed to her lack of sleep. Again, cutting out ALL dairy has solved her problem.
Weight Gain
When your insides are not absorbing and discharging correctly all weight loss efforts seem worthless. I can attest to such a truth. Beginning, I suggest the Paleo or Blood Type diets. Click on each of the links for better info than I can give by opinion. Then go get a food allergens test and stop trying to reinvent the wheel!!!

I will be starting my dairy free, gluten free, egg free lifestyle this week. More tips, recipes, updates, and workouts to come! BE FIT BE FEARLESS
